IRON ORE

Iron is the world's most commonly used metal - steel, of which iron ore is the key ingredient, representing almost 95% of all metal used per year. Iron ore is the principal raw material for steel industry. India is the fourth largest producer of iron ore with a huge reserve of iron ore. The iron ore industry continues to go from strength to strength. Global apparent iron ore demand remains robust in the short-to-medium term. iron ore lump is input for iron making through the DRI/BF process.

Lower-grade sources of iron ore generally require beneficiation, to improve the concentration of the ore and remove impurities. The results, high quality fine ore powders, are known as fines. Iron ore fines is input for sinters and pellets, used for making Pig Iron.
